Here are two short meditations crafted by Mitch Bruger using his MAVEN Method to assist sufferers of chronic pain to enhance their quality of life. Mindset and enhanced perspective can go a long way toward augmenting the perception of pain by our brains. Within the human brain, there is an infinitely complex network of connections or synapses which can be linked to other sections simply by adding new ideas, concepts or thought patterns. Our pain receptors or at least their connection can therefore be influenced considerably by meditation, affirmation and visualisation. These are the first three letters of the MAVEN acronym and are the most powerful elements of the method. Disclaimer here: I am not a psychologist, nor am I medically trained in neurology. My experience is my own and I have been using these methods for many years and discovered the benefits they have brough to my own mind and those of many others. I make no promises that they will also work for you, but I have faith they will at least help a little.
